Long, long ago…
The first constructions of the Castle date back to the 13th century. Salettes appears in texts as early as 1252 for its participation in the construction of the Sainte-Cécile Cathedral in Albi. The associated church appears in 1271 under the name “Saint Saturnin de Salettes.”
Successive ownership by illustrious names such as the de Cominha Family, the Viscount of Lautrec, and the d’Hautpoul Family. The first cries of the famous General d’Hautpoul were heard in the Castle Tower not far from the room that bears his name.

The Château de Salettes has always been exploited for its vineyards, and in 1994, Roger Le Net fell in love with it. He bought it for the quality of its terroir, and at the time, the Castle was in ruins. The renovation of the place followed a guiding principle: to preserve the exterior structure and create a strong contrast with a sober and modern decoration inside.

THE VINEYARD
The Château de Salettes, built on a rocky outcrop in the 13th century, is surrounded by its 10 hectares of vineyards. Facing southwest, on clay-limestone soil highly suitable for vine cultivation, it benefits from an exceptionally favorable geo-climatic situation. Even under François I, the white wine from Salettes was already found on the table of the King of France.
